The Year Two Class Pose a Science Theory

The children came up with a theory that M and M packets of candy have different amounts of colours per packet.  To prove their theory, they sorted out the colours and made bar graphs based on their findings.

The Year Two Class Prove a Point

After sorting the colours, the children had to make  bar graphs showing the results.

The Year Two Class - Science/Maths

The Year Two children discovered that their "theorem" was correct.  M and M candy packets do contain different numbers of colours per packet!  They were right and they proved it!  The end result was their bar graphs showed the differing numbers.

The Year Twos Warm Up and Stretch - Ready for 1K

The Year Two Class Learns about the Length of 1K

The children walk/run 1K when they study measurement.  They know that a kilometre is used to measure long distances.  They have also learned that a metre is used to measure large things and that centimetres and millimetres measure smaller things.

The Year Two Class Measure Out One Hundred Metres

The year two children are learning about measurement.  They know that 1m equals 100cm.  They also saw for themselves how far 100m will take them.  Next week they will run 100m to see if they can come close to Bolt's record.  They will also go the distance ten times learning that ten of the 100m make a kilometer.

The Year Two Class Looks at the Value of a British Pound

The Year 2 children counted out all the coins that make up a pound.  They decided they'd rather carry a one pound coin in their pockets than 100 one pence coins!
