In Year 2/3 we have been
learning all about ‘Changes Within Living Memory’ in our topic. We have
investigated how things like fashion, music, transport, education and
technology have changed since the 1940’s. We linked our learning to include
Maths, English, History, Art, Computing, Music and Design &
Technology. We each chose something from the past that we could use as a
stimulus to design and make a model. Ashlyn chose to make a Rubik’s cube from
1980, Jia chose an Apple Ipad from 2010, Patrick chose a Tesla electric car
from 2001 and William chose a PlayStation II from 1999. We had great fun
designing and making our models!
We can’t include everything
from each decade, so can you please help us? Our display is in the main
entrance to the school. Please write or draw any special events, people,
inventions or memories on the photo frames for each decade.
